Characters

Robin "Birdy" Perry- Birdy is the main character. He is from Harlem, New York. He thought the war was going to be easy, that they were just going around saying, "Hi!" to all the Iraqis and then the war would be over.

Marla Kennedy- Marla is from Dix Hills, New York. She likes to tease Birdy all the time.

Charlie "Jonesy" Jones- Jonesy is from Stone Mountain, Georgia. He is into the blues and dreams of opening a blues club. He says that once he opens the club he will play 6 nights a week and on Sundays he will jam with God, because he and God are tight. Then later you find out he does not believe in God (even though his father is a minister).

Sergeant Yossarian- Yossarian is a stuffed monkey. A guy named Victor won an auction on eBay for a stuffed animal monkey, but instead the seller found out he was serving in Iraq and sent him a stuffed monkey. Victor did not want him so Marla took him and named him Yossarian. When he is riding in the Humvee he sits in Birdys lap.

Sunrise Over Fallujah

Sunrise Over Fallujah is a book written by Walter Dean Myers. This book is the sequel to another great book called Fallen Angels. Fallen Angels takes place in Vietnam during the Vietnam war. It is about an American soldier named Richie Perry.
Sunrise Over Fallujah is set in 2003 at the start of the Iraq war. The main character is Robin "Birdy" Perry. He is the son of Richie Perry's younger brother, Kenny. Birdy joined the Army wanting to serve his country. When rumors go around camp that the war is going to be easy, Birdy soon learns that you don't believe everything you hear.
